Aus weißen Viertelkugeln mit integrierten Lautsprechern ist eine elektroakustische 8-Kanal-Komposition zu hören.
Diese basiert auf jenen Audio-Aufnahmen, bei denen die small world wide - Teilnehmer*innen Bahnhöfe, Zugreisen, U-Bahn-, Schiff- und Fährfahrten akustisch aufgezeichnet haben.
Beispielsweise:
- Bahnhöfe in Italien und Kanada
- U-Bahn-Fahrten in China und Deutschland
- Fahrten in den Ladies Special Trains in Indien
- Autofähren in Kanada und in den Niederlanden
- Schifffahrten in Deutschland und Italien
Visuell greifen die Lautsprecherobjekte den globalen Aspekt des Projektes auf: in ihrer Form als Teile der Erdkugel und in ihrer Anordnung als gekrümmte geodätische Linie.
Out of white quarter spheres with built-in loudspeakers you can hear an electroacoustic 8 channel composition.
The composition is based on the sound recordings the participants of small world wide made of railway stations, train journeys, metro trips, ferry transfers, ...
For example:
- railway stations in Italy and Canada
- metro trips in China and Germany
- train rides with the Ladies Special Trains in India
- ferry transfers in Canada and the Netherlands
- ship journeys in Germany and Italy
Visually the loudspeaker objects point to the global aspect of the project: their shape reminds of parts of the globe and their spatial arrangement picks up a curved geodetic line.
